On October 1st, 2019, SEN Consulting Joint Stock Company and CGE Risk Management Solutions B.V. from the Netherlands successfully organized the workshop with topic “Maintenance of Safety Critical Element and Process Safety Management in oil and gas industry with Bowtie XP” at the Training center of PV Gas Vung Tau.
The workshop attracted interest and participation of more than 60 experts who are taking important positions in technology, production, maintenance and safety in oil and gas companies such as Bien Dong POC, Cuu Long JOC, JVPC, PV Gas, PV Power, BSR, Idemitsu, PV Drilling, Rosneft, SWPOC, etc.

At the workshop, Mr. Ho Quang Tao – Director of SEN Consulting JSC. shared his knowledge and practical experience on how to identify Safety Critical Elements (SCE) by using software Bowtie XP. The software will allow to create a connection between the safeguards with cause and effect and show gaps in the management of SCE. At the same time, Tao also mentioned the good examples related to Bowtie XP software being applied in the oil and gas industry.

Next, experts from CGE presented application of BowtieXP for risk management, continuous quality improvement and effective maintenance of management system. These shares focus on presenting a number of Bowtie XP’s new functions and the application of Audit XP and Incident XP software in investigation and incidents management.
The experts attending the seminar not only discussed and exchanged enthusiastically about the application methods, benefits of the software, raised difficulties and problems for enterprises that have been applying new functions of Bowtie and other related softwares.

At the end of the workshop, SEN and CGE experts answered questions concerning how to manage and maintain SCE and the application of Bowtie software. By acknowledging the recommendations from experts about next workshop topics of process safety and health-safety-environment (HSE) that are of interest in the oil and gas industry. SEN will coordinate with international association to organize practical workshops on these topics to create opportunities for exchanging and improving knowledge for not only personnel in the oil and gas industry but also other industries in the future.
