SEN Consulting Joint Stock Company (SEN) had conducted the 05-day public training course of “Simultaneous Operations – SIMOPs” with 10 participants from 04 to 08 November 2019 at Ho Chi Minh City.
Offshore drilling and exploitation activities are carried out in a limited space. At the same time, many different activities will be carried out such as construction, installation, operation of the pipeline system, drilling activities, maritime activities.
The risk assessment of these independent activities is often conducted and the control measures are in place to eliminate risks, but when two or more activities happen at the same time, new risks arising can occur when the operating range is close to each other. Maritime operations of many devices in the same adjacent area but different purposes and roles are a typical example for SIMOPs.
In order to identify and analyze the potential hazards associated with simultaneous activities in offshore oil and gas exploration, SEN has designed a training course on the topic “Simultaneous Operations – SIMOPs”.
After the course, the participants will conduct the assessment by themselves or be able to consider and assess the practical SIMOPS situations.
Benefits of applying SIMOPs:
- Increasing safety level when independent operations occur at the same time in exploration activities
- Minimize disruptions in exploration
- Minimize operational losses and financial costs when planning and assessing risks in order to identify risks and control risks to the business activities in the oil and gas industry.
