Following the success of the workshop “Maintenance of Safety Critical Element and Process Safety Management in oil and gas industry with Bowtie XP” on October 1st, 2019 in Vung Tau. SEN Consulting JSC. (SEN) and CGE Risk Management Solution B.V. from the Netherlands continuously organized workshop “Process safety and risk assessment with Bowtie XP” on October 3rd & 4th, 2019 in Hanoi.
The workshop attracted interest and participation of Mr. Nguyen Anh Tho – Deputy General Director of Department of Work Safety under Ministry of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs; Professor, Doctor Le Van Trinh – President of Vietnam Occupational Safety and Health Association (VOSHA); Representatives of Industrial Safety Techniques and Environment Agency – Ministry of Industry and Trade, Representative of State Agency for Construction Quality Inspection – Ministry of Construction, Representatives of Vietnam National Institute of Occupational Safety and Health (VNNIOSH) as well as nearly 40 safety experts from leading associations and companies such as Vietnam Oil and Gas Group (PVN), Power Engineering Consulting Joint Stock Company 1 (PECC1), Center for Registration of Safety Technics MARD (RST), Petrolimex Can Tho, Saigon Petro, University of Labor and Social affairs (CSII), etc.
SEN and CGE experts have developed and designed suitable content including theories and working practical exercises in qualitative risk assessment work for various industries such as petroleum, chemicals, thermal power and hydroelectricity. Specifically, Mr. Ho Quang Tao – Director of SEN Consulting JSC. shared knowledge about hazards, risk assessment methods, safety critical elements, the concept of Bowtie diagram and practical guidance on risk assessment using Bowtie analysis and current legal requirement for quantitative risk assessment.
To apply Bowtie diagram into risk assessment, experts from CGE presented the Bowtie advantages, the steps to Bowtie and the application of BowtieXP in risk management. At the end of the program, CGE experts presented more about continuous quality improvement by using IncidentXP and AuditXP software.
As workshop content including theory and practice, together with the exchange and sharing of practical experiences from participants, the workshop became very exciting and engaging.
At the end of the workshop, SEN and CGE experts answered questions from participants concerning how to apply Bowtie software in different industries. By acknowledging the helpful suggestions from participants about next workshop topics of process safety and health-safety-environment (HSE), SEN will coordinate with international association to organize practical workshops on these topics to create opportunities for exchanging and improving knowledge of personnel in the safety industry and other industries in the future.
