DON’T LET POSTURE IN LABOUR AFFECT YOUR HEALTH AND WORK EFFICIENCY
- What is Ergonomics?
The term Ergonomics originates from Greek. In this context, “Ergo” means work, and “Nomos” means rules.
According to the definition by the International Ergonomics Association (IEA), “Ergonomics is an interdisciplinary science composed of human sciences to adapt work, machinery, equipment, products, and environments to the physical, intellectual, and even the limitations of human abilities.” Ergonomics is considered an applied science with the important goal of optimizing the relationship between “human-machine-environment.” In other words, Ergonomics is concerned with human factors in designing and refining machinery, systems, environments, and objects that humans use and operate. In working specifically, ergonomics is a field of knowledge that comprehensively studies human activities with machinery and the environment to ensure health, safety, comfort, and work efficiency.
